IPL 2019 Schedule for the first two weeks
The much awaited news for the cricket fans
is finally released. Yes, the schedule for the first two weeks of the cash rich
tournament was announced on Tuesday(February 19). Defending Champions Chennai
Super Kings will take on Royal Challengers Bangalore in M.A Chidambaram Stadium,
Chennai. This will be for sure an exciting news for the fans in Chennai as they
missed out all league matches but one due to some political problems and the
home ground was shifted to Pune. This year they will hope for the matches to
happen as usual.
There will be another hurdle for planning
the schedule and venue as Lok Sabha 2019 elections will be during the period.
That is the reason why the schedule is released for only first two weeks. The
BCCI, which is awaiting for the details of the election dates to be revealed,
so that they can address if any issue with the first two weeks schedule and
also will prepare schedule for the remainder of the season working with the
local authorities around the polling dates.
As per the current released Schedule, 17
matches will be played between the time period of March 23 to April which
consists of three double header days on March 24,30 and 31. Delhi Capitals(Renamed
name of Delhi Daredevils) and Royal Challengers Bangalore will play one
game(i.e 5) matches more than the other eight teams whom will play four matches
each. Delhi Capitals will play three home games and Royal Challengers will paly
three away games. The rest of the teams will play two games each in home and
away.
